Managing your Ringlink Webring System
- This is a disabled example of what the Master Administration page (admin.pl) looks like. Clicking the 'Ring admin' button in 'Master admin' allows you to edit all rings in your Ringlink webring system without having to enter each ring's password. When managing your Ringlink Web Ring System you should backup a copy of the data folder on a regular basis. To do so you would click the 'Backup data' button, and then download the ringlink_backup.tar.gz or .zip file that was created to your computer using your FTP client. Then if your data online was ever lost, you would just have to upload the ringlink_backup.tar.gz or .zip file, and then click the 'Restore Data' button. The other buttons displayed here are all self explanatory, with 'Reset stats' having been explained in the README configuration section.
Note: An option to create backup files in zip format has been added with the 2.3 version. This option is platform independent, so now backup taking will work also on Windows platforms.

- You should check the Ringlink CVS Directory for updated versions of the the various Ringlink files, including any new translations that may now be available.

Customizing your Ringlink Webring System
- Customizing your new Ringlink powered webring system so that it blends in seamlessly with the rest of your website can be allot of fun, but you should remember to keep a detailed list of what changes were made and to which files, so that in the futur you can update to the latest version of the Ringlink program without any mind bending complications!
- For a basic customization of colors and layout you need only edit the rlconfig.pm file.
For a more detailed customization, you would edit/update the style section of the top.html file, and the various other template files as found in the template directory.
And finally if you want to do a complete customization of absolutly everything, you would edit/update any or all of the program's files (The Ringlink team advises that only those experienced and familiar with the various rules and aspects of Perl scripts contemplate such a complete transformation of the Ringlink program).
