Just for info... I was finally able to get the rings I've still got at the
why! working again... no thanks to the idiots over there who couldn't get
the live system running...

Anyway, the experiences that I had within the last 1 1/2 hours with my 3
very small rings tells me that I'm throwing in the towel completely, and
moving every single one of my rings over to ringlink. At first I was
partially convinced, now I'm completely convinced that while ringlink is
still very new and very young and it's a long road ahead, it runs circles
around the joke that WebRing has now become.

I know this is somewhat off-topic and I apologize for that - If you would
like to recieve off-tech-topic ringlink emails from the group, email me
privately and I'll send along the info. May I recommend that we all join
the off-topic discussion group and leave the tech discussion here,
untarnished? :-)

Jamie

Subject: [ringlinklist] HTML code URL

in the sign up form for new members there's the section to type the HTML
code URL...obviously some members keep their code on a sub page as opposed
to their front page. if they fill this out does this cause the ring to go to
their html code url or is it that info there just for management's
benefit...? i don't mind if my members have the ring code on a special
rings page, but i like the ring list to have their front page url.

in my experience it's never effected ring traffic if each site doesn't lead
to a page with the ring code on it. our visitors always make the effort to
find the ring page.

i hope i'm making sense 8-)
