G whiz, providing 4 or 5 mail templates for a RingMaster would surely
make more ringmasters happy than sad, or confuse some into thinking
that Ringlink was a e-mail client
When typing a letter, I use a word processor.
When building a spreadsheet, I use a spreadsheet program.
When making changes in the registered info for my webring, I use Ringlink.
When sending a simple email message, I use my email client.
Doing so makes sense to me.
Despite the above, there are a few built-in *notification* messages in
Ringlink, some of which are sent automatically, and some of which can be
sent to a ring member directly from Ringlink when you change the status
of a site. Nevertheless, an email client is typically the natural and
best choice for sending messages.
Can somebody explain to me what's wrong with using an email client when
sending email messages?
You would not list all sites within a ring on the Site Status board
displayed on the Site admin login page, but just those that had their
status changed within a predetermined amount of time as determined
by the RingMaster (Say 2, 6, 12 or 24 days).
The idea with a "Site Status board" comes out of the suggestion that you
would store personal messages in Ringlink, doesn't it? In that case, see
above.
