I would also suggest that the statistic-files are moved into
the same directory as the ring-files and the subdirectorys for
each member is deleted. This directorys (not the files) uses
unnecessary space, how much is depending on server
configuration. In my case each directory uses 4 KB (not
including file-size). 1500 ringmembers menas 6 MB of diskspace.
I'm thingking about modifying the program and remove all
directorys and stat-files, as I don't use them. I nead the
space for another websites I have on this server.

I must say that 6 Mb disk space doesn't sound very much to me for
a system that hosts rings with 1,500 sites. Shouldn't you still
have non-used disk space exceeding that size, just in case?
The 6 Mb is space used by ringmember subdirectorys only, not space
used by the site. Thats about double. I'm on a virtual server
with other sites beside the ringlink-site. Within the server total
I can move diskspace between my sites. Without the - IMO
unnecessary subdirectorys - I could move 6Mb to other sites and
still have sufficient buffer on the ringlink-site.
There are currently 6 files in each site directory related to the
statistics, and additional site specific files may be added in the
future, such as a file where the ringmaster's 'notes' about a site are
saved, so it's not obvious to me that the site directories are
unnecessary.
I'm not saying that the data couldn't have been organized in some
other way, but this is the route I chose, and it can't be easily
changed. I'm still of the opinion that 4k per site is of little
significance.
